Who operates Saturnote

Saturnote is operated by the Saturnote developer. Questions, support requests, and data-deletion questions can be sent to betorendonruiz@gmail.com.

Google authentication and Google user data

Google handles authentication. When you authorize Saturnote, Google provides an OAuth access token and the basic account information needed to identify the account: your Google subject identifier, email address, display name, and profile image if one is available. Saturnote never receives your Google password.

In the browser app, the access token is held in memory and is not intentionally written to local browser storage. Saturnote uses it to request your basic profile and to read or update Saturnote's app-data file directly in your Google Drive account.

Scopes Saturnote requests

• openid identifies your Google account and supports the authenticated session.
• email provides the email address associated with the account.
• profile provides your display name and profile image.
• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata lets Saturnote create, find, read, and update files only inside Saturnote's hidden Google Drive application-data folder.

Saturnote does not request general drive, drive.readonly, or drive.file access. It cannot use the app-data scope to browse, read, or change the files visible in My Drive, and app-data files cannot be shared through Google Drive.

Saturnote's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Saturnote does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Where Saturnote app data is stored

Google Drive app data

Your synced workspace is stored as a versioned app-state.json file in the appDataFolder space of your Google Drive account. It can include notes and outlines, completion state, tags, focus sessions, check-ins, and progress history. The folder is hidden from the ordinary Google Drive interface and is accessible only to Saturnote after you authorize it.

Local browser storage

The web app stores a local copy of the workspace in your browser so it can start quickly and keep changes available if Google Drive is temporarily unreachable. It also stores a random device identifier used to distinguish sync clients and device-local preferences such as appearance, focus timers, workflow options, and save behavior. Those preferences are not synchronized through Google Drive in the web 0.1 release.

Anyone with access to your unlocked browser profile or device may be able to access locally stored Saturnote data. Use the operating system and browser controls appropriate for a shared device.

How Saturnote uses app data

• To authenticate you and show the Google account currently in use.
• To load, save, synchronize, export, import, and recover the Saturnote workspace you ask the app to handle.
• To diagnose sync or support problems when you choose to contact support and provide relevant details.

App content travels between your device and Google Drive. Saturnote does not keep another server-side copy of your notes or use your content to train AI models.

Analytics, error reporting, and the public website

The Saturnote app currently does not include a product-analytics service or an automated error-reporting SDK. App activity and note content are not sent to an analytics provider. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the new collection is used.

The public site at saturnote.com is separate from the app workspace and does not receive your notes, outlines, focus sessions, or progress history. It uses local browser storage to remember the site's display mode. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request and security-log information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp.

If you join the waitlist, Saturnote sends the email address you submit and fixed campaign labels to Beehiiv so it can create or reactivate the subscription, send the welcome email, and deliver Saturnote updates. The site also loads Beehiiv's attribution script, which may process referral or campaign information. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email and can ask for deletion of your waitlist record by contacting support.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads font files from Fontshare and some decorative profile images from Icons8. Those providers receive the network information normally sent when your browser requests a page or asset. Saturnote does not run advertising trackers on the site.

Service providers and sharing

Google processes authentication and Drive storage; Cloudflare hosts and secures the public website; Beehiiv processes waitlist subscriptions and email delivery; and Fontshare and Icons8 serve website assets. These providers process information only for their respective services and under their own terms and privacy policies. Saturnote may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

Retention

• Google Drive app data remains in your Google account until it is reset or deleted through the controls described below.
• Browser data remains in that browser profile until Saturnote or you remove it, or until you clear the site's storage in browser settings.
• Waitlist information remains with Beehiiv until it is deleted. Unsubscribing stops marketing messages but may retain a suppression record so the preference can be honored.
• Hosting and security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational and security settings.

Your controls: what each action does

Export a backup before any destructive action and, when deleting synced content, wait for Saturnote to report that synchronization has completed.

Sign out

Sign out ends the current Saturnote session and revokes the credential the app is using. It returns you to the sign-in screen. It does not delete the local browser copy, device-local settings, or the Google Drive app-data file.

Export and reset local cache

This recovery-only action appears when Saturnote cannot read browser data. It first downloads the unreadable data, then removes only the affected workspace cache from that browser. It does not remove Google Drive data, other browser preferences, or your Google authorization.

Reset Saturnote data

The Reset panel requires you to type DELETE. It clears notes, outline state, statistics, tags, and focus history, saves the empty state locally, and synchronizes that empty state to the hidden Google Drive file when Drive is available. Device-local appearance and workflow settings remain, the hidden Drive file itself remains as an empty app-state document, and Google access remains connected.

Delete the Google Drive app-data file

Saturnote web 0.1 does not yet provide a separate self-service control that permanently deletes the hidden Drive file itself. Google states that users can manually delete an application's app-data folder and that the folder is deleted when the application is uninstalled from My Drive, although the folder is not visible in the ordinary Drive interface. For help with the current Google controls, contact betorendonruiz@gmail.com. Reset synced content first if your immediate goal is to remove the workspace contents from Saturnote.

Disconnect Saturnote from your Google account

You can remove Saturnote's access from your Google Account's third-party connections page. This prevents Saturnote from accessing your Google profile or Drive app data until you authorize it again. Disconnection does not clear the copy already stored in your browser, so clear Saturnote's site data in that browser if you also want the local copy removed. Do not treat disconnection alone as confirmation that the hidden Drive app-data file has been deleted.

Security

Saturnote limits Google access to the four scopes listed above, communicates with Google over HTTPS, keeps browser OAuth access tokens out of persistent browser storage, and uses Google Drive's app-specific data area so other Drive apps cannot access Saturnote's files. No service can guarantee absolute security, so export important work and protect access to your device and Google account.

Changes to this policy

This page will be updated when Saturnote's data practices change. Material changes to Google data use will be disclosed before the new use begins. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
